This patch for KDE 4.1beta2, fixes the numlock enabled / disabled at startup.

Description Dario Panico 2008-01-02 18:21:05 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

I selected 'Turn on' in NumLock on KDE Startup but everytime I logout KDE3 (NumLock On) and log into KDE4, NumLock is off.
Comment 1 Garami Gabor 2008-01-13 14:14:41 UTC
Select "Turn off" then it works(!). I think it's a screenbug.
Comment 2 Dario Panico 2008-01-16 16:52:05 UTC
yes, i confirm it: Selecting "Turn off" works.
Can someone rapidly solve this really simple issue?
Comment 3 Dario Panico 2008-02-11 19:04:22 UTC
kde 4.0.1+svn the bug is still there...
Comment 4 Elez J. Shenhar 2008-04-08 12:42:02 UTC
Still a bug in 4.0.3
Comment 5 lindenman AT spray.se 2008-05-26 20:22:43 UTC
Still a bug in 4.0.4. The checkbox indexes has been reordered in the new ui as follows.

Checkbox	Current index	Should be index
-----------------------------------------------
Turn on 2 0
Turn off	0 1
Leave unchanged	1 2

new kcmmiscwidget.ui
Comment 8 Anne-Marie Mahfouf 2008-06-27 11:09:39 UTC
Committed corrected layout but that does not fix it for me. The led is on but the keys do not work when I set it to NumLock on.

This patch for KDE 4.1beta2, fixes the numlock enabled / disabled at startup.

Just apply this to kdebase-workspace and it corrects issues with numlock being
enabled or disabled at login for KDE.
Comment 10 Kris Moore 2008-07-07 20:53:36 UTC
I've gone ahead and submitted a patch which corrects this issue on my PC-BSD system here. It should fix it for all OS's though :)
Comment 11 groot 2008-07-07 21:03:32 UTC
.. not checked the patch's actual functionality, but TRUE and FALSE are C-isms and should be true and false, respectively.
Comment 12 Kris Moore 2008-07-07 21:09:35 UTC
Ahh, sorry about that. Would you like me to resubmit the patch with lower-case true / false?

now the checkboxes semms to work (WORKSFRME) but leds are not managed consequentially. e.g. I'm on kubuntu hardy and 'turn on' is selected, my num lock led is off, pressing the num lock key lights up the led and switches off the NumLock. Maybe it's something related to my distro or kdm, don't know.
Comment 15 Dario Panico 2008-11-22 09:34:15 UTC
It now works for me totally correctly, i'll mark it as WORKSFORME
