There's no easy way to implement such a filter in general, even for PostScript file from a known source and a known good quality/consistency in their internal structure. It is next to impossible to implement this so it works reliable for a large range of PostScript files. PostScript Level 1, 2 + 3 files are generated by a huge range of applications, and many of these "do their own thing", PostScript essentially is a programming language. When the code is executed, it draws lines, graphical elements and glyphs on screens and sheets of papers. "Filtering" programming language code in a way that reliably adds certain features to any application that is written in a particular language would be similarly difficult. Wait until the Linux and Free Operating Systems world has moved over to a "PDF based workflow" for all their printing needs. Then ask for such a feature again. It will be more easy to implement with PDF files.... Until that time... sorry. You ask for something I'd like to see too. But unfortunately, I'll have to close that wishlist item for now. What you ask for is similar to a "filter that adds Closing old Resolved status bug. |
