Description Jonathan Thomas 2007-12-14 19:51:01 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.97.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

While using the Kubuntu KDE RC2 LiveCD I found a bug.

I resized the screen from 1024x768 to 1280x1024. The resize went okay, and X didn't fail or throw up large quantities of crap. The problem lies with the plasma panel. Instead of resizing to match the new screen resolution, it just kept it's position on the screen. Now the panel is somewhere in the middle of the screen and doesn't extend all the way across the screen.

Isn't this the same bug that happens when removing an applet from the panel? In the latter case it does not resize either.

I don't know, I never ran in to that bug.

no.

and if this is happening again, it's a regression as this was working just fine. =/

The same problem (panel staying in the middle of the screen) happens when you rotate the screen with xrandr 1.2 for e.g. xrandr -o left

This is particularly annoying on a tablet PC as it makes KDE 4 unusable.

I should add that this is with KDE SVN compiled in the last 24 hrs on gentoo
