Description Peeter Puusemp 2007-12-14 14:16:34 UTC
Version: 2.0 (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

Description of problem:
The symbols sidebar doesn't behave correctly. Lower symbols are hidden behind
lower symbol groups. Here is a descriptive picture:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/attachment.cgi?id=288151

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.0

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Kile.
2. Open the symbols sidebar.
3. Navigate in different groups.

Additional info:
I just updated Kile with yum, the previous version was from 1.9 series. I am using Fedora 8.

I posted it in the FedoraForum to make sure if it happens only to me, but I have
got already one confirmation:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=175362

I use GNOME, but the problem exists also if to open it in the KDE environment.
Also the problem stays if to use other KDE themes or if to delete the Kile
config file in the home directory structure.

I have already filed this bug in Fedora bugzilla, but it doesn't seem to be Fedora specific:

I have the same bug using SuSE 10.3 with KDE 3.5.9 and Release Candidate of Kile 2.01 (from PackMan).

Please try to solve this annoying bug!

PS: I've written my thesis with Kile. It is by far the best tool -- keep up your very good work!

This bug has been fixed in the KDE4 version of kile which is currently in alpha stage.

(And as there is no easy fix I know for the KDE3 version no fix is planned.)
