when clicking on a link in a mail, konqueror should be opened. But instead Kmail hangs and must be killed.

Strange problem, I've never seen this.

1. Can you try a newer version? Your enterprise version is old, it was work-in-progress at that point

2. Does this happen in other KDE applications as well?

3. Can you try to interrupt KMail with GDB while this problem happens to get a backtrace?

I somehow doubt that this is KMail's fault, as KMail just calls KRun.

strange, it works again. But I don't think that I have changed anything :-)
