When entering time/date information, all data must be entered by hand. A more useful form of the date chooser would be to have a small calendar pop up to assist in adding the date. For fields which are truly date and time, a clock might also be helpful. Both would benefit from a 'right now' button which puts in the current time. Alternatively, the default action could be set to put in the current time as soon as the row is initialized and then it can be clicked to modify it.

These changes would be especially useful if the form entry widget for date/time was a date chooser. It's very difficult to enter the whole string without any guide whatsoever.

Assigned. Improved the report's title.

Agreed. However regarding "It's very difficult to enter the whole string without any guide whatsoever. " - depends on your experience. People working with data entry, like accountants, are accustomed with fast data entry using keyboard only. The new input method should be fully operable using keyboard as well.

Bumping an 8 year old issue. : )

I just downloaded Kexi yesterday and a pop-up date picker was one of the first things I was wishing for. Agree that it should be fully operable using just a keyboard, too.
