I assume that the first step toward this is to have the possibility to split view inside kile, then it would be i assume pretty easy to have in the same window the tex source and the embended preview !

Moreover when this is done, a button to synchronize could be very useful and not that demanding ( using forward and backward search ) (correspond to forward view when in editing window and backward search in viewing window )

To push even more there could be a "keep synchronized" button, calling forward search each time we change line or block of line in the source and backward search when scrolling embended preview !! this would be so useful and cool !

So arguments :

The main idea is that for now using embended viewer is useless, since : you edit ; view ; edit ; view and of course viewing in parallel of editing is much more efficient, so then you watch file in kdvi in some other desktop and switch back and forth, or you create split view by setting your app's windows to be on to of each other... but you loose much space with window borders and can't use fullscreen mode...

I agree with the edit; view; edit; view problem, but I have a large enough monitor for having a kpdf window beside kile and therefore never use view. However, a split view would be great independent of this. I miss it every time I want to refer to a set of labels some other place in the document.  An implementation similar to the one in TeXnicCenter where you just drag a bar down from above the scrollbar would be great. Should split view be a separate whish list item?

This is implemented in Kile 3.0
