Description Yves Glodt 2007-11-03 23:10:53 UTC
Version: 2.2.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

On my fully up-to-date Kubuntu Gutsy, ktorrent 2.2.1 causes between 380 and 400 wakeups per second, here is the relevant line of the powertop output:

36.5% (380.2) ktorrent : futex_wait (hrtimer_wakeup)

At this moment, 3 downloads were loaded and active in ktorrent.

I like ktorrent :-) Will it be possible to reduce this very high amount of wakeups.

Let me know if you need more information about my system.

There is another source of 86 wakeups in ktorrent on my system:

11.6% ( 86.0) ktorrent : schedule_timeout (process_timeout)

You can't get work done when you are sleeping. It might be possible to reduce this a bit, but I doubt we could substantially reduce that.

Latest SVN never manages to get above a couple of percentages, while it is downloading at 700 KB/s, so this bug can be closed.
