Sentry Crash Report:

Description Olle Bergkvist 2007-11-03 13:16:43 UTC
Version: 1.6.6 (using KDE 3.5.6, Kubuntu (feisty) 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu14.1)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-16-generic

Hi KDE, thanks for wonderful software.

When i have used Konsole to the point where the console view gets "filled" from bottom to top, and a vertical scrollbar is created, this bug kicks in.
All the text in the first line of the console history, the one that normally is "<user>@<host>:~$ <the first command i ran>", disappears, and a blank line is shown in it's place.

How to reproduce this:
Start a new, empty, tab in Konsole.
Run 'dmesg' or some other command that gives a lot of output,
OR Run several commands until you have a lot of output.
Scroll to the top of the history view, a.k.a. the beginning.

I have not looked in the source code yet, i thought this was a good place to start. Maybe you fix it faster than i can type 'apt-get source konsole' ;)

It is always a good idea to install the latest stable version before posting a bug report -- because the bug you see can be fixed from some time.

I don't see it in KDE 3.5.8, so if there was a bug it is fixed already.

PS. I don't see a command for "dmesg" just because I have a lot (!) of output -- but it is good Konsole provides long, but limited "history" -- otherwise I would be soon out of RAM.

This was a long standing bug which was fixed in KDE 3.5.7 if I remember correctly.
