Kontact needs to change the default recurrence period to be one year, instead of the current one week. In my experience, very few events recur weekly, yet many recur yearly.

Additionally, it might be nice to have a simple "recur yearly" (and maybe also "recur weekly") option on the General tab of new appointments. That would save time entering in new appointments that recur. The Recursion tab could stay as it is for those who need to tweak the recursion more precisely.

In my experience, most events appear weekly, some yearly and even fewer monthly... (Actually, apart from birthdays and  holidays, which are automatically created by the birthdays resource anyway, I have **only weekly** recurrences in my calendar).

My typical weekly recurrences are:
-) Each course I give or attend at university
-) my choir rehersals
-) The weekly scientific talks at our department
-) The weekly "brown bag lunch" each wednesday
-) My office hours
-) The sun-/monday night American Football games on TV

The differences in our usage are the reason why I suggested that the General tab have an easy "recur yearly" and "recur weekly" options. It will save much time for those of us who cannot use a mouse.

The new incidence editors make it easier to change the recurrence type.
