When playing an avi file, Kaffeine has a green line in the right-hand corner of the frame.  It is displayed throughout the video and only minimizing (i.e. changing the size) or going full-screen temporarily removes it but it returns as soon as the video is re-sized.

the green line shows in full screen mode.
