Version: 0.9.2-final (using KDE 3.5.8, Kubuntu (gutsy) 4:3.5.8-0ubuntu3)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-14-generic

I have reproduced this crash, it happens sometimes when I click on one of the small thumbnails on the light table after adding an image.

Hi Simon,

there have been quite a few changes in the light-table code
in current svn. Would it be possible for you to install the svn
version and see if the problem persists?
(At a first try I could not reproduce it ..)

Thanks a lot,

Arnd

Hi Simon,

I can't reproduce the problem with current svn (i.e. 0.9.3-beta2).
Could you maybe try that out and see if the problem persists?

Many thanks, Arnd
Comment 4 Simon80 2007-11-05 13:36:34 UTC
Sorry, but I'm having trouble reproducing it with the same version of Digikam that I reported this with, so I can't test it very well in the svn version.
Comment 5 Arnd Baecker 2007-11-05 14:14:30 UTC
Perfectly understandable ... ;-)
I remember that I did have occasional crashes with the ligth-table in 0.9.2,
but since then quite a bit has changed and I was not
able to create any crashes (and I did use the light-table a lot recently...).
So what about if we close this bug, keeping in mind
to re-open it anytime if there is a new crash with >0.9.2?
(Of course this does not necessarily mean that the bug is gone,
but if it only comes up so infrequently so that even you cannot reproduce it ;-),
it is essentially impossible to find the origin ...)
Comment 6 Simon80 2007-11-05 18:41:42 UTC
Indeed, that makes sense, and if I can't reproduce it anymore, it won't bother me ;)

When I first came across it, it was happening consistently with a group of pictures that I wanted to compare, to the point that I had to give up. However, I don't remember which ones they were, and I've moved my pictures to a different path since then. I'm marking the bug as resolved.

I experience the same problem in 0.9.3 (kde 3.5.10, ubuntu binary packages)

It happens so often that it makes th elight table almost completely useless.

This should be fixed in 0.9.4... this is the latest stable version of digiKam. Please try this version and report if the problem is still present.
