Sentry Crash Report:

Description Billy McCann 2007-10-17 00:12:12 UTC
Version: 0.9.2-final (using KDE 3.5.7 "release 72" , openSUSE 10.3)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22.9-0.4-default

After I plug in and select to open with digiKam the camera, digiKam attempts to connect with the camera and is unsuccessful. digiKam reads the camera as a Panasonic DMC-FZ20 when actually it is a Panasonic DMC-TZ3.

Billy,

Same problem here... This depand of libgphoto2, not digiKam directly...

The Panasonic cameras share the same USB ids for different names, so the name should not matter.

Does "gphoto2 -L" work better on the cmdline?

Is the camera set to mass storage or PTP mode?
Comment 3 Billy McCann 2007-10-17 13:56:42 UTC
The Panasonic DMC-TZ3 must be set to "Print mode" via the rotating dial that
sits atop the camera in order to be put in PTP mode. Once the camera is set
to Print Mode in this way, both digiKam and gphoto2 work splendidly with
it.

Thanks for your time.

Thanx to the fix (print mode on cam works fine when using cam like a storage, digiKam still doesn't handle cam properly)

As this file depand of camera mode used to be connected to computer, it don't depand of digiKam.

I close this file now.
