Description Timothy Cahill 2007-09-26 21:50:37 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: n/a rpm downloaded from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE3/openSUSE_10.2/i586/
OS: Linux

Since upgrading to 3.5.7, I have been unable to use Kmail to retrieve my email. Kshowmail is able to access the pop account and shows a growing number of email present on the mail server. However, when I click on the "check mail in" button, the status bar immediately updates with the current time and "Transmission complete. No new messages". Using wireshark, I can see that no network activity occurs.

Just wish to clarify, if there was any confusion. Kmail is not able to access my email. I mention Kshowmail only to demonstrate that there is in fact email present, and that my internet connection is working properly.

I have the same problem, but restarting kmail helps@me. Do you use imap or pop ?

To tstaerk, I use both imap and pop.

To All, I have upgraded to KDE 3.5.7 "release 80.1", and no longer have this problem.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this version of Kmail has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Please try using the latest version of Kmail to see if your issue persists. If it does, please submit a new bug in "kmail2". Thank you!
