Description Maciej Pilichowski 2007-09-22 19:56:14 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Disclaimer :-) I am not saying that current design is bad, or something, but I feel it is not optimal.

So rather not a wish, but a thought. Just a reminder, current behaviour:
* if KPS runs, KControl switches to KPS
* if KPS does not run (but it could be powersave deamon running, and KPS is installed), user sets standby/suspend/poweroff options in KControl

I think that in the latter case, there should be one extra step -- reminder, that it is better (?) to use KPS, so the user would be asked if he/she wants to run it. Or better -- run it, configure it, and quit KPS (if wished).

Why such step -- in current implementation user is left alone and it is not informed about useful tool. I think that adding possibility to run KPS on demand from KControl improve usability.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Kcontrol has been replaced by System Settings in Plasma. Please give the latest version of that a try, and open a new bug in "systemsettings" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
