Version: 1.4.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

My understanding is that the default format for ipods used to be m4a
and that people complained, and now the default is mp3, and I am complaining :-).

Wouldn't it be nice to allow the user to select a profile? Alternatively, if changing the amarok interface is really hard, what about making a device specific profile in transkode or whatever script (i.e. Amarok TTMD ipod) and documenting this as the way to do things by a hint in the interface.

Please redirect this wish to the authors of the transcode plugins. They are a third party script and we cannot support them.

I guess I should have been more precise. I agree that any changes to transcode are obviously out of scope, but I think the fact that Generic Audio devices have a nice transcoding menu and ipods do
not is an amarok issue. Should I file a different wish to have the menu
ported to the ipod?
