KDE can not control OpenOffice.org icon themes. There is a Crystal icon theme that brings the Crystal icons for OpenOffice.org, so you can use that one (or any other "paired" icon themes for KDE and OpenOffice.org). About the KDE applications, ALL of them use the standard KDE icon or print preview, so this "general usability" bug is pretty INVALID. If you find any KDE application that does not use the standard icons of the current KDE icon theme, please file a bug for *that* application. the problem is - KDE and OpenOffice people do not talk to each other to agree on which icon to use for which action. result - the user has a usability problem IMHO the "KDE-Desktop" should act as coordinator if such things happen. > KDE and OpenOffice people do not talk to each other to agree on which icon to use for which action. Please do not generalize - this is just an artwork "issue". > IMHO the "KDE-Desktop" should act as coordinator if such things happen. Sorry, don't feel to agree here. so where to put this issue? sorry to come back on this Openoffice uses the crystalsvg icon "filequickprint" to "print file directly" which IMHO corresponds to the name. koffice uses exactly this icon to open a print preview - no printing is possible. IMHO a printpreview icon is missing. Please reopen the bug/whish !!! > Openoffice uses the crystalsvg icon "filequickprint" to "print file > directly" which IMHO corresponds to the name. > koffice uses exactly this icon to open a print preview - no printing is > possible. You still don't see the real issue, do you? If the Crystal icon designed for "print preview" is used to indicate a *different* action, then you have the real issue. Please file a bug report against the Crystal icon theme *for OpenOffice.org*. And no, I won't reopen the bug for a non-KDE problem. please consider comment #5 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149617#c5 Ferdinand, are you reading or what? KOffice uses the *standard* icon used by *all* of KDE. If the OpenOffice.org Crystal theme uses that icon for *another* purpouse, it's not KOffice nor KDE's fault. This is a specific bug of an *OpenOffice.org* icon theme. sorry Please read the file name and what koffice does in kde35/share/icons/crystalsvg/scalable find . -name "*print*" results in ./devices/printer1.svgz ./devices/print_class.svgz ./filesystems/folder_print.svgz ./actions/fileprint.svgz ./actions/filequickprint.svgz ./actions/frameprint.svgz and KDE uses fileprint.svgz to print a file - which is correct - and koffice (and may be others) uses filequickprint.svgz to PREVIEW a file. And? A filename means basically *nothing*. Open that file, and see that that icon is used to indicate the *print preview* in *ALL* the KDE applications: KOffice, KPDF, ... every applications that can do a Print Preview. You can see yourself in the kdelibs standard action (kdelibs/kdeui/kstdaction_p.h): { PrintPreview, KStdAccel::AccelNone, "file_print_preview", I18N_NOOP("Print Previe&w..."), 0, "filequickprint" }, (the last field is the icon name) KDE and KOffice is coherent here, they use the same icon to indicate the print preview. As I said, the problem is the different usage of that icon between the KDE theme and the OpenOffice.org theme. And please, STOP assigning this bug to random products. so you want me to file a bug against openoffice http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149617#c6, because they use the icon which does what the name says. Sorry I can't follow this argument. |
