NX support is already planned. *** Bug 156294 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Isn't the libnxcl integration done? Could this be closed? Basically NX support is there... but it cannot call it finished. The person who implemented it is not reachable anymore. I cannot even get it compiled because of some issues, but I think it should not be that hard to finish it because the codebase looks good. It just needs some time to look at which is missing here at the moment. I hope to get it done ASAP. maybe the owner from qtnx could help, he seems to already have a kde email address : http://blog.gwright.org.uk/articles/2006/08/23/qtnx-ready-for-public-consumption Any chance this will make it into the 4.3x series? Or will we have to wait until next year? (In reply to comment #6) > Any chance this will make it into the 4.3x series? Or will we have to wait > until next year? Most probably not... I would like to have a finished version of NX support, but there is no way set. Nobody is actively working on it, and nobody seems to find time to do so in near future. Bad news, I know... :( Support for this has been "basically there" since 2008, what's still missing? I think this is definately an important feature to have. Specially now with the advent of telepathy desktop sharing. VNC is just too slow! (In reply to comment #8) Sure, it would be a very important feature for KRDC... But: it's not finished yet and nobody is working on it at the moment. Anybody is invited to continue NX support in KRDC (I would also support this project with my knowledge). Another possible source of code for NX technology support is X2Go, a fork of the soon-to-be-proprietary NoMachine NX codebase: http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/start It's licensed under the GPL, AGPL, and various permissive free software licences. So no news on that matter? X2go is apparently now the standard for openSuSe and other distribs. Having it supported in krdc would really be awesome. The NX support in KRDC was removed in 99f5ff345dd185e49c52211376d78c3c59c4c5fa -- it was never ported away from KDE4, and had been broken since KDE 4.2. If someone steps up to (re-)add NX support, it's still there in history. (Closing as "unmaintained", although I'd want to apply "wontfix" here: there's some old code, but there's no developer time-and-interest available) See also https://phabricator.kde.org/D23453 |
