Description Alvaro Aguilera 2007-08-06 01:09:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

It would be really nice to have shortcut keys for the panel applets, for example the "Quick File Browser".

Perhaps that's already possible and I didn't find the option...

Btw. I think the shortcuts-scheme in KDE need some revival, for example the thing with the "win-key", 99% of the keyboards now have this key, yet KDE doesn't use it by default. I have it mapped with the arrow-keys for desktop navigation (one desktop right/up/etc.), and together with the control-key and the arrows, to move the active window to another desktop and I find that really productive. I don't now if freedesktop has a guideline for shortkeys, but I would be great if they make one. For example in firefox the combination ctrl+tab to switch tabs is very useful, but that is different from the one in konqueror, and that confuses the users who use firefox in kde, moreover every time I press ctrl in konqueror all access keys are shown, I find that horrible because I use the key a lot when cutting and pasting and that not only confused me at first, but sometimes things are not copied at all (with the last versions of kde this doesn't happen anymore).

I have split this report and created 2 new report for plasma and kde.
