Operations in Krita can take some time, and the interface blocks. Krita should notify the user by displaying a waiting mouse pointer or something similar.

This summer Dmitry Kazakov will work on making all tools non-blocking -- and make sure they give feedback.

This is pretty much done now -- though there are some actions that still need to be ported. Dmitry, do you have an exhaustive list of such actions? Maybe it's a good idea to provide a small how-to, so we can get people with less experience to pitch in.
