I configured Kopete to not show the tray icon, so that it fully quits on closing the main window. However, if I quit by closing the window, visibility settings for the toolbars are not saved. If I quit by pressing Ctrl+q they're saved.

Seems fixed in kde4 (Kopete 0.50.80) (but see #165913, may be related).

Let's call it good then (or WONTFIX unmaintained kde3 version), feel free to reopen if you get new info or data that issue still exists.
