1. Find any web page, document, or other text representation of a word containing a ligature character.
2. Trigger search in $whatever-application and type the word using only non-ligature characters. (Search for ‘find’ when the page says ‘ﬁnd’, for instance.) 

KE should aid users by highlighting the word even when the search query contain the word's non-ligature equals instead of the ligature. (As this is what the user think they are seeing. Most users cannot tell the difference between ‘ﬁ’ and ‘fi’ anyways....)

I confirm the problem is still there in KDE SVN trunk r881398.
