What is the reason you want to turn of the UIDL request? I've had the misfortune of using Novell Groupwise for my work e-mail for the past year. I've moved on to another job, and would like to get all of my work e-mail into kmail, with the rest of my e-mail. So I set up another account, and cleverly said "leave mail on server" in case the first attempt at downloading turned into a huge ugly mess. Darn good thing I did, because it did. Unfortunately, thanks to UIDL, I'm not getting much in the way of useful further attempts. While I admit that it may be unusual to want to download the same messages multiple times like this, I would find it useful. David As a workaround, you can delete/rename the files in $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kmail/ that store the seen UIDLs. That will redownload ALL messages of that account which were left on the server. Ah. That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you! Now I just need to convince the local network administrator to let the POP3 server give me messages older than 90 days for about an hour.... |
