kopeTex should get resolution from X server by default. It is good to allow the user to change it, but by default, an "get resolution from X server" option should be enabled. With that, the formula will have the same size that the rest of the text by default, which is the correct behaviour.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
