Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs

When I open akregator window I can switch from it to, let's say KMail, but I cannot switch back, since this window is not listed on the tasks list. I have to manually close or minimize all windows to get to the opened akregator window.

Whatever this was (some kwin breakage?), it was most probably fixed in KDE4. Reopen if not.
