Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages
OS:                Linux

In each Program of KDE (e.g: KDevelop, Kate) after click Ctrl+O or choose
File -> Open... opens the select file dialogue
In this dialog if I only use the keyboard to select the file some
files or folders will be skipped.
e.g:
I have 4 folders and 5 files:
[folder_1]
[folder_2]
[next_folder]
[nr_4]
<file_1>
<second>
<and_last>

and begin at [folder_1]. If I use only one time the '↓' key to go down
the [folder_2],[next_folder],[nr_4] will be automatically
skipped and the <file_1> will be selected. After clicking '↓' again the <and_last>
will be selected skipping <second>

I can confirm this behaviour with kde 3.5.8 (kubuntu)

I've had the same problem on KDE 3.5.10. Fortunatly it has been fixed in KDE4.
