The SASL libraries have to be installed and configured properly. Please install them and try again. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 99911 *** I have the same problem with 3.5.7 compiled from sources and SASL libraries are installed (cyrus-sasl 2.1.22). What do you mean by configuring SASL properly? What do you configure there if they are just bunch of dynamically loaded libraries? Let me add to my previous comment: I did as recommended in bug 99911 (configure path in konqueror for OpenSSL and restart kmail) but sending still fails most of the time. I use "check what server supports" to find out what mechanism is supported and get TLS + PLAIN. But the sending fails with "Your SMTP server does not support PLAIN. Choose a different authentication method. ....". So then I try TLS+LOGIN and get the SASL error. Being desperate I have tried to switch these methods several times and surprisingly, the message gets send out occasionally. Unfortunately, I can not make kmail to send it out reliably. Jan, your bug seems unrelated to this one, as it only fails sometimes. Maybe your are suffering from bug 146585? If not, please open a new bug report. |
