Description Jeffrey 2007-06-01 19:58:35 UTC
Version: 1.6.6 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I am trying to work in a MikroTik router and I constantly get booted out of both Konsole and xterm; I end up using Putty in a Unix environment (Kubuntu 7.04) whish jest seems wrong. But it works and Konsole doesn't.

I wish for Konsole to send keep alive packets or something so that I don't constantly get booted with the message:

[admin@medge0] system> Disconnecting: Timeout, server not responding.
eljefe@eljefe-desktop:~$

Thanks!

Hi,

There is a command line tool called 'spinner' which might help you.

To install in Kubuntu:

sudo apt-get install spinner

When run, it sends a small amount of data continuously over the network to prevent connections from being dropped for being idle.
