Sentry Crash Report:

Description appsdev 2007-05-31 04:46:13 UTC
Version: 0.1.3.5.7, Kubuntu (feisty) 4:3.5.7-0ubuntu1~feisty2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Tried everything available online that I could find.

Ran ifconfig (everything looks OK), nm-tool (everything looks OK), commented out everything except the loop part in /etc/network/interface and still it will not connect automatically to the router>dsl>internet.

After startup, I click 'wired network' and I am connected.

Best guess is that the network settings may not be saved. Just a guess.

Tried removing app. Earlier distros allowed me to connect but recent distros seem to default to no connection.

The same happened with 3.5.5, 3.5.6 and finally 3.5.7.

Help please . . .

It's a NetworkManager daemon problem, this is what decides whether to connect a wired network on startup. Please report this vs NetworkManager at Ubuntu - unfortunately knetworkmanager has no influence over this.
