Description Tomer Shalev 2007-05-16 18:20:53 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

When the application list is quite long, and you are 'browsing' the opened window using 'alt-tab', you may overlook the application, and then you should iterate all other applications all over again.
In Microsoft Windows, you can press the Shift key, so that now pressing Tab iterates application in reverse order.

This feature is very useful and it is most annoying for Windows users that are used to this key binding.

You probably should try it so that you would see this has existed in KDE since ages.
Comment 2 Tomer Shalev 2007-05-17 09:09:56 UTC
I've tried this :-)
It doesn't work in my system. I was indeed surprised that it doesn't work - I though it is a trivial key-binding...
Maybe this happens on my system because I'm using an Hebrew keyboard. I'll look for that. Meanwhile let it be WORKSFORME.

Try if it works with English keyboard.
Provide 'xmodmap' output for both of them.
I also suggest upgrading to 3.5.7 once it's released, as there was a related change.
Comment 4 Tomer Shalev 2007-05-24 13:52:32 UTC
Doesn't work with the following configuration:

KDE version: 3.5.7

$ xmodmap
xmodmap: up to 3 keys per modifier, (keycodes in parentheses):

shift Shift_L (0x32), Shift_R (0x3e)
lock Caps_Lock (0x42)
control Control_L (0x25), Control_R (0x6d)
mod1 Alt_L (0x40), Alt_L (0x7d), Meta_L (0x9c)
mod2 Num_Lock (0x4d)
mod3
mod4 Super_L (0x7f), Hyper_L (0x80)
mod5 Mode_switch (0x5d), ISO_Level3_Shift (0x7c)

I'll further investigate and try other configurations in order to isolate the problem.

How can I switch to other keyboards? I have bi-language PC-104 keyboard (Eng+Heb) and using it mainly for English.
Comment 5 Lubos Lunak 2007-05-24 14:23:47 UTC
I meant English layout, not physical device. Switch to Hebrew layout and do as asked, then switch to English layout and do as asked again.

Comment 6 Tomer Shalev 2007-05-24 14:44:18 UTC
Shift+Alt+Tab doesn't work in both English and Hebrew layouts.
Comment 7 Thomas Zander 2007-11-19 14:58:25 UTC
I can confirm; doesn't work in KDE4
Comment 8 Will Stephenson 2007-11-26 14:52:36 UTC
@Thomas: This bug is about KDE 3.
