Description Bill Robert 2007-05-12 17:38:19 UTC
Version: 1.4.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

One thing I miss in Amarok is tempo adjustion for songs because this would be useful for using Amarok as a kind of media-center replacement and for me because when I try to learn dancing many songs are too fast for me so I need to lower the tempo.
Therefore I suggest to integrate the Soundtouch library which would make it possible to adjust pitch and tempo (without changement to the pitch) because for now I have to use a strange program called "mixxx" which is some kind of unflexible.
Of course this integration should be optional (a compile-time option) because not everyone needs it, but I don't think it should be a script because scripts are slow and such a low-level routine has to be executed fast.

Sorry, this won't happen because Amarok does not process the sound directly. Instead it uses backends (xinelib) for audio reproduction.

Possibly though someone would make such an effect plugin for Phonon, which can be used by Amarok 2.0.
