Version:           1.6.5 (using KDE 3.5.5, Gentoo)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.4.6 (Gentoo 3.4.6-r3, ssp-3.4.6-1.0, pie-8.7.10)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-gentoo-r8

Both are transparent and shows the KDE background image.

That is clearly intentional, hence the names.  The difference between them is obvious when you run the Midnight Commander program ( in "Green Tint" the background is solid blue, in the "... with transparent MC" variety the blue background is transparent.
