I have my panel on the right side of the screen (with a 2-screen xinerama setup, the panel is on the rightmost screen).  Screen corruption occurs in the taskbar with the vertical panel layout, the icon and text of the tasks get corrupted.  This happens randomly when switching tasks or when moving the mouse over the taskbar.  A screenshot of the problem is here:  http://www.icce.rug.nl/~hein/corrupt-taskbar.png

I've reproduced the problem on two different systems, both running ubuntu 7.04 with latest updates and KDE.  Horizontal panels don't have the problem as far as I've seen.

The problem was confirmed on a machine without xinerama and with a single screen.

The problem is confirmed also with KDE 3.5.7 in Kubuntu.

Kicker is currently unmaintained, you can look to your distribution for help, however.
