Hello Dirk, Does changing the character encoding make a difference? (via Settings -> Encoding) Try the Unicode ( utf8 ) option if it is not already selected. Good Morning ;-) Hmm. Yes, changing to utf8 gives me the correct behaviour. But the whole system is working on de_DE@euro (ISO 8859-15), so since then I get the problem that all other special-characters (like the german ö, ä, ü...) are not displayed correct any more. So this would not solve my problem. I think this is a KDE- or Konsole-problem: - am I using "standard" I get no apostrophe - am I using "utf8" all other special-characters give problems - am I using "ISO 8859-1" I get back the apostrophe, but then I loose the EURO-character and - am I using "ISO 8859-15" I get the same behaviour then on "standard". :-( So, this does not solve the problem. Greets, Dirk You mentioned that you encounter this in xterm as well in your original report. xterm uses no KDE components at all, so I suspect the problem is occurring at a lower level. You could try gnome-terminal and see if the problem is apparent there as well. I suggest that your distribution is the best place to go for help in this case. Reopen if you can duplicate on KDE 4 and is not system-wide issue. |
