Mik, 

Konqueror, Kdevelop, Konsole, etc... from KDE3.5.7 do not do it too... 

It sound like a problem from KMainwindow which set all default shorcuts as well...

Hmm. I don't know what to do. This is not digiKam bug per se so this
entry shouldn't litter bugzilla but this *is* bug.

Does it work in KDE4 (whole KDE version, not only digiKam)?

No, with KDE4, digiKam do not give access to menu using F10. But i don't run full KDE4 env... This can be the reason...

At the beginning of shortcuts hunting you mentioned that many things are
broken due to Qt limitations. Maybe just revisit all related bugs after
KDE 4.1 - or at least really useful complete working evnironment. In
next two-three months?

It looks that the HIG lineguide has been ignored by every KDE4 apps... probably this report is no more valid :-/
