Latest versions of Yahoo Messenger can add MSN contacts:

http://messenger.yahoo.com/feat_interop.php

And the reverse should be true as well.

So, please support this way of adding contacts.

It requires a protocol update, the feature would be quite nice btw

This feature is the only one that prevents me from ditching pidgin for kopete, I have many yahoo contacts although I don't have a yahoo account.

Hello from the KDE Bugsquad!

Unfortunately, Yahoo has discontinued the Yahoo Messenger service, and the code has been removed from Kopete.

Thus, I am closing this bug as "UNMAINTAINED" since it will no longer be fixable, or able to operate due to Yahoo.
