Tom,
your CUPS may not find enough RAM to rasterize the complete page. Try to...
(a) ...either decrease the resolution value (if your driver supports such
a setting,
(b) ...or increase the "RIPCache" setting in your /etc/cups/cupsd.conf file
(I bet it is still at the default of "8m" -- rather go for "64m" and see
if that helps).
Having said that, your KDE 3.3.2 is rather old already. *If* kghostview is at fault here, you should upgrade and report again if the problem is still present in KDE 3.5.6.
