Description Celeste Lyn Paul 2007-04-04 15:17:21 UTC
Version: 0.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.6, Kubuntu (feisty) 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu13)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-13-generic

0.9.1 -- The Image menu in the menubar does not contain any menu items, it is empty. The menu proposal I saw on the digikam mailing list did not include an Image menu option, so perhaps it was just missed in the menu reorganization?

Celeste,

It sound like a broken installation.

This menu is fill by standard option provided by digiKam core and kipi-plugin options.

At least, the core options must be available.

Are you installed 0.9.1 over and old 0.8.x ? If yes, uninstall old release before.

Are you used the standard packages or are you compiled yourself digiKam ?

DigiKam was upgraded from 0.8.x to 0.9.1 via apt in Kubuntu. This is likely to happen to a lot of people upgrading from Dapper to Feisty (which is to be released in April).

Well, this is an Kubuntu package problem...

Achim, Luka, what do you think about ?

Celeste,

Do you have digikamimageplugins installed?

Luka
Comment 5 Celeste Lyn Paul 2007-04-04 21:25:51 UTC
Luka,

No, I do not have digikamimageplugins installed.
Comment 6 caulier.gilles 2007-04-04 21:52:00 UTC
ok, you talking about Image Editor, not Album Gui.

Install DigikamImagePlugins package and all will be fine

Comment 7 Celeste Lyn Paul 2007-04-04 21:55:44 UTC
Is it possible to make DigikamImagePlugins a required package for Digikam installation in Kubuntu so other users don't have this same problem?
Comment 8 Luka Renko 2007-04-04 21:59:48 UTC
Celeste, digikamimageplugins is not shipped by default, as there was not enough space on CD. This will stay the same for feisty.
0.9.2 has merged plugins into main application, so feisty+1 should be fine.
Comment 9 Celeste Lyn Paul 2007-04-04 22:07:44 UTC
OK, as long as it is fixed in the future.

Cheers.
Comment 10 caulier.gilles 2017-08-08 17:01:16 UTC
Since digiKam 5.2.0, the image editor plugin interface was removed in favor of
tools directly embeded in digiKam core. This problem will not reproducible.
