Clearing the chat window is way to confusing and unintuitive, especially for the new user. In order to do so, one either has to use the /clear command or navigate to Chat>>Commands>>Clear. This took me a while to figure out. It would be much easier and intuitive if there was a "clear" option in the context menu when you right click on the chat.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
