Description Olivier Vitrat 2007-03-06 15:29:54 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

This has been reported in Debian BTS at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=378804

I work with a large inbox, with some messages in it marked "important"
for future reference. Once before, after upgrading, I found that all
my important messages were unmarked; this time, I caught the process
red-handed.

Are you using IMAP?
If so, this could be the same as in bug #117429, point 3).
I think all flags, be it important, unread or todo, are handled by the same system.

Hi. It was I who reported the bug on Debian BTS; thanks for your attention.

And no, three times:

1) The folder where I had "important" marks disappear was (and still is) a POP3 one.

2) The damaging upgrade was within the 3.5 series.

3) I did not experience anything as global as "all messages marked ??", just the "important" marks went away.

As I said, this happened some times during kmail 3.5 upgrades; unless there were format changes during this phase, I think this is a Debian-KDE bug, not a KDE bug.

Regards,
Shai.

"I think this is a Debian-KDE bug, not a KDE bug" ... let's close it
