Sentry Crash Report:

Description Flavio 2007-03-02 15:08:06 UTC
Version: 0.8.2 (using KDE 3.5.6, Kubuntu (edgy) 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu1~edgy1)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.17-10-generic

The image rotation action always pops up a modal dialog that does not go away until the Close button is pressed. This is a major usability step backwards from previous versions. The progress should be displayed in a non-modal ui, such as the status bar (a la Amarok).

Forgot to say that this bug report also applies to 9.1rc2! Now I'll shut up and go back to my digikam-powered photo-management activity.

I don't think this is a duplicate of bug 141528. The dialog popping up just to show progress is a bug, even if it closes automatically.
