Perhaps my bug is similar to
Bug 135295: adding contact: create new entry doesn't work

The person i tried to add was included in my KAddressbook and had an ICQ number _and_ a Jabber-ID.
His Jabber-ID was already in Kopete.
I had no chance to add the person as my ICQ Buddy.

I was online in ICQ, got no errormessage and no new Buddy appeared after adding.

After deleting the Jabber-ID in KAddressbook and in Kopete it worked fine.
There may be some problem with people who have several accounts.

I couldn't reproduce this. I added a Yahoo ID to one of my addressbook contacts, then in Kopete added the Yahoo ID as a buddy and merged it with my meta-contact. It worked, however if I edit the Yahoo ID in the addressbook, the change is not noticed by Kopete when it is started again. Therefore it doesn't appear that Kopete syncs screen names with the addressbook. Tested in Kopete 0.12.7 (Using KDE 3.5.9) standard Kubuntu packages.

I don't have kaddressbook installed for KDE 4 so I can't test the latest version of Kopete. Will Kopete start using Akonadi to store contacts, so that Kopete and Kmail will use the same contacts?
