Description Christoph Hintermüller 2007-02-19 23:54:26 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Sometimes it happens that Applications crash when logout, reboot or shutdown was triggered by <strg><alt><del>. As a consequence the kbugreport Dialogbox pops up and stops the logout, reboot or shutdown process untill the user quits the report by selecting close. As long as there is a user in front of the computer and as long as the computer is not a notebook running on battery this doesn't bother me.

But as I do have set the Lidbutton action for my laptop to shutdown. Further usually do not sit in front of my compos and wait until they have powered down or have quited the session or rebooted. As a consequence it is quite anoying comming back hours later and finding the computer still running or the battery of the notebook to be empty and no powerplug anywhere.

Thus i'm asking for some checkbox somwhere in kcontros->components->kbugreport by which i can request the kbugreport to ignore crashes when session is terminated by logout, reboot or shutdown. Alternatively a selectable user response time out on kbugreport would achieve similar effects.

Its not a bug but somehow a bit anoying especially for one like me how cant keep off till the last minute ;-)

Thanks

You can (probably) do this with the instructions here:

This is still a problem with KDE 4.1.1. Turned off my computer last night just to save some power, woke up this morning to find it stuck on an Amarok crash (we have some known crashs on exits currently).
