Hi!

1) konqueror hangs after setting the encoding for remote sites. (all konqueror processes have to be killed manually)

2) if the encoding is set to iso 8859-1 then iso 8859-13 is used - looks like the matching function returns the first substring match.

setting to 8859-15 works fine (but I do not need this one ;-)

any hint available how to get around this problem?
I even could recompile KDE libs and base to fix this if I would now what to change.

still hangs in 3.5.7 SVN 666333

BTW - what is default
IMHO it should be UTF-8 
but trying to access a UTF encoded filesystem with default encoding all Umlaute are crap, until I set UTF8 manually.
wrong configuration? where could I look?

Hi Ferdinand,

Do you still see this issue in KDE 4.x ? Does it happen with the other ioslaves, e.g. kio_ftp ? I suspect it is bigger than this io-slave so the bug report does not belong here at all...
