Description Amilcar do Carmo Lucas 2007-02-16 12:32:27 UTC
Version: 3.5.6 (using KDE 3.5.6 "release 19.1" , openSUSE )
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-21.15-default

I configured KMail in the Settings->Configure KMail... ->Misc->Groupware tab so that:
[x] Enable IMAP resource functionality
Format used for the groupware folders: Standard (Ical /Vcard)
Language: English
Resource folders are subfolders of: imap/inbox

I can see the folders in kmail, and the "Contacts" folder does have information on it, i can see it and browse it, the info is correct.

On kaddressbook, in the "Address books" view I selected and activated the "IMAP address book -> imap/inbox/Contacts" resource.

I can add contacts to this address book in kaddressbook, they appear and do work.
I can also see the newly added contacts information on the kmail, "Contacts" imap folder. So I guess that the information get written correctly.

Now when I restart kaddressbook the information is gone. So my guess is that the retival (information read) has a bug.

This might be related to BR132737

I have a very similar bug.
I create the contacs with thunderbird/kolabsync.
I store them via an imap account in ical format.
I triy to read them via kmail/workgroup.
Therefore I set up kmail like Amilcar (except that I choose german/deutsch as folder language).
I can see the contacts in kmail.
But I cannot see them in kaddressbook.

The same with appointements.

I've set up kmail with 'disconnected IMAP' on my notebook. Same settings for groupware as described above except the language (German). Kadressbook and Korganizer worked well.
But: While trying to do this for the other user(s) on the same notebook, it is not possible to put in the imap settings for Kadressbook and Korganizer. I can put the setting in, but they will not appear then. Only the (standard) resource is shown.
If tried the same on my desktop computer and it was also not possible (for all users).

Sorry: Just found, that you have to do the IMAP settings for the Korganizer first and than for the Kadressbook.
My Problem is solved.
Sorry again...

The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4.
Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
