kontact always worked fine for me. but after I updated some packages (i don't know exactly which) it crashes with signal 11 (SIGSEGV):

this looks familiar.

are you using basket?  I think there is an interaction problem caused by the suse basket packaging.  but you should contact suse for sure.

Yes, I installed the opensuse rpm of Basket. But after I removed this rpm and intalled it from source it works again, thanks for the fast help!

I had same problem with kontact - removing kbasket resolved problem
