*** This bug has been confirmed by popular vote. *** It looks like this feature was implemented in MSN over 1,5 years ago. Maybe it's time to implement it in Kopete. Are there any thoughts on that or any test versions we could try? *** Bug 155661 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 158560 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Pidgin 2.4.0 adds support for offline messages in MSN. I think it's sad that Kopete development is slower :( offline messages will be probably supported in the new messenger protocol since they need msnp13 at least and current msn protocol on kopete uses msnp11 or 12 iirc so when is kopete gong to use the msnp13 ???????????????????????? Nice to know whats the problem but, not a resolution... I do agree. It would really be nice not having to go online to send a user a message and then going invisible. It has become a must-have feature. Please implement it. It would really be handy if Kopete can show offline message of MSN. I'd really be appreciating if such feature is implemented. Thank you developers in advance! Only recently has pidgin (as of 2.5.0, released a week or two ago) implemented full support for MSNP15 and offline messages. Perhaps their code could help. http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/ChangeLog aMsn is another example of open source msn client which fully support offline messaging. Offline messaging in aMsn seems pretty mature as I've been able to use it without problems. *** Bug 170854 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Come on even meebo implements that feature, and it's what i've been using to do offline msging in MSN. I love Kopete so I'd love to see it here. I'm willing to help code it if necessary. If anybody wants to help with this, compile kopete from source and also compile the new wlm protocol plugin that's in playground and provide feedback on it so we can provide that feature in the next release. I was just about to comment on this. I read yesterday on techbase.kde.org that you, Matt Rogers, are implementing MSNP15 for Kopete. Does that include offline messagig and ---more importantly-- P2P file send? (Not the way it works now, I mean truly P2P) I appreciate all the work you do, really. Sometimes we (the users) rant on too much, but the effort you put on this is awesome. Thanks! I'm not implementing it, I'm just the one taking the responsibility for getting that feature into Kopete for KDE 4.2. It does include OLM and better file transfers AFAIK. (In reply to comment #15) > If anybody wants to help with this, compile kopete from source and also compile > the new wlm protocol plugin that's in playground and provide feedback on it so > we can provide that feature in the next release. > I hadn't seen this message before. You want feedback on Kopete's SVN version? I'll try to compile it. If gentoo slotted ebuilds exist, I'll be much happier. *** Bug 132459 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 71306 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** This is in SVN now, to be released starting with KDE 4.2 Beta 1. You'll need libmsn from www.sourceforge.net/projects/libmsn (use the 4.0 beta) since we've replaced the old MSN plugin with a new one. |
