When I am viewing a closed thread (meaning I did not expand to see all the messages) I will see the latest message in the thread without maximizing and scrolling down to the last message.

Kind of like Gmail where in the collapsed conversation you always see the latest reply instead of the first one.

This would be a useful feature.

I think what you mean is something like in bug #98383 point 3).
