Try renaming ~/.kde/share/config/kontactrc . Does kontact run then? No. I even deleted this file. But the problem continues to exist. I have the same problem after upgrading to the latest KDE 3.5.6 RPMs from SuSE site: kontact crashes on startup with very similar trace; individual components, such as kmail, korganizer, kaggregator, kpilot and K address book can be started individually and work fine. I tried removing the ~/.kde/share/config/kontactrc too, no effect. Here is the trace: Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1". Everything worked fine before upgrading to the latest KDE 3.5.6 RPMs from openSUSE site. I consider this as fixed, caused by a buggy third-party plugin. vonbirn, reopen if your case is different from https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=244022 Thanks for the tip - removing Basket also cured it for me - it was installed on my system but it was not configured in Kontact. It was once, for about 1 day, so i could try it. I had removed it from Kontact a long time ago - i had to use "rpm -e" On Friday 09 Feb 2007, Werner Habel wrote: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail] It was slightly differently for me: today I upgraded to the latest patch of kcall and everything started to work perfectly. No basket uninstallation was necessary, in fact basket is running from inside the kontact right now. KDE team, you are doing an excellent job, thank you! I have the same bug, but now it's ok. The problem is with the old configuration of kontact and akregator. Specially the second. Just erase all the configuration files (minus the feeds.opml), and all work again ^ ^ |
