I think it would be nicer that instead of having Kopete use timestamps in 12 or 24 hour mode depend on the skin that it use what you set in KDE's Date and Time format. Or at least have an option that will change it so you don't have to use a completely different skin if you want the timestamps in 12 hour.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
